MATTE Magazine Issue 56: Chanell Stone

$20.00

Issue 56 of MATTE Magazine features photographs and poetry by Chanell Stone. Stone is an Oakland-based artist whose work focuses on challenging insular views of Blackness by expanding on narratives subject to Black erasure. This avidity has led her to explore the Black body’s connection to the American landscape. The issue also features a new essay by Delphine Sims, PhD student in the Department of History of Art at UC Berkeley whose research focuses on the ways in which race, gender, geography, and urbanity inform landscape photography.
