MATTE Magazine Issue 57: Leor Miller & Linden Crawford
MATTE Magazine issue 57: ๐ ๐๐ฆ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐ข ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฎ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐๐ช๐จ๐ฉ๐ต features photographs by Leor Miller interspersed with texts by the artist and writer Linden Crawford. The work that expands, stretches, celebrates, and confuses the potential of what a body can be. With the closing of 2020, a year that individually and communally warped everyoneโs lives in new and unprecedented ways, this magazine offers a pause. A moment to reflect on nature. A spiritual turn inward. A visual offering to contemplate magic. Because in the words of Terence McKenna, โYou are a divine being. You matter, you count. You come from realms of unimaginable power and light, and you will return to those realms.โ โฃ

Leor Miller is a photographer, writer, and musician from Evanston, IL currently based in New Yorkโs Hudson Valley where she received her BA in Photography from Bard College. Using the control of staged self-portraiture and digital manipulation, as well as the element of chance that is inherent to the photographic medium, her work deals with themes of selfhood, mystical and ecstatic experience, altered states of consciousness, the Other and the unknown, and the search for meaning.โฃ
